Ken Hartwick

 

Ken Hartwick joined PERF as the Director of Finance in 1998.  In that role, he oversees the financial management of all PERF projects and activities, and he has helped build PERF’s strong financial security and organizational reputation. His scope of responsibilities includes: accounting and finance; contracting; information technology; human resources; retirement programs; and operations management. Because he manages financial aspects of the entire range of PERF’s projects, he has gained a working knowledge of current issues and trends in policing.  Mr. Hartwick also represents PERF on the Board of Directors of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.           

 Prior to joining PERF, Mr. Hartwick supervised activities of the Tax Exempt Association Management Services group at Aronson, Fetridge and Weigle, a regional CPA firm based in the Washington Metropolitan area.  He also did consulting work for numerous nonprofit organizations, charities, and public service entities as a CPA with Hunt, LaPorte & Associates in College Park, Maryland.  

Mr. Hartwick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and maintains his active status with the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy.  He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Radford University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland at College Park.
