Police Chief- Round Rock Independent School District 

The Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) located in Round Rock, TX is seeking its inaugural Police Chief to serve the second largest school district in the region with over 7,000 employees and over 50,000 students on 55 campuses in both Williamson and Travis Counties. Campuses include seven high schools, 11 middle schools, 34 elementary schools, and 3 alternative learning centers covering 110 square miles. 

It is envisioned that the RRISD will continue to work with the current SRO service providers as the new Police Department embarks on its new operations and staffing. As such, the Police Chief will be involved in community outreach with District personnel and stakeholders while simultaneously establishing the workings of the new Police Department including policies, procedures, budgeting, staffing, and transitional plans. 

A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree in management, criminal justice or a related field is preferred. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience and a minimum of three years senior command level experience are required. Additional professional development and training (e.g. FBI Academy, Northwestern Institute, PERF's Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), Southern Police Institute, or similar institution) is desired. The selected candidate must be currently licensed or able to attain a license by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and be able to secure and maintain a Texas Driver’s License.
