 The City of Snyder is a vibrant community with 11,574 residents nestled deep in the heart of West Texas, in the central portion of Scurry County.  Snyder is a home rule city which operates under a council-manager form of government.

The Snyder Police Department under the direction of the City Manager has a budget of $2,535,520 and is equipped with 22 sworn police officer positions and three non-sworn clerk positions. 

For the ideal candidate a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police science, public administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.  At minimum, an Advanced Certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education is required.  The candidate must have 10 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, with a minimum of seven years of supervisory, command, or administrative experience.  The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
