This report presents the findings of a major PERF study, comparing rates of officer and suspect injuries in police agencies that use Conducted Energy Devices with agencies that do not use CEDs. The study found that CEDs can help reduce injuries both to police officers and suspects. But PERF continues to urge police agencies to adopt clear policies to prevent any unnecessary uses of CEDs.
